Car Information:
Old ’88 Royale

Engine Size: 3.4
Trans: Automatic

Issue / Question:
My car’s horn blasts at anytime. When steering, when parked at night, and when i brush it while steering. when i hit it, it sometimes sticks on. I thought that I heard you talk about putting some washer on the pad. I believe you said it swells up and this is the problem. But the air bag is attached to the horn. I unscrewed it and looked inside and i saw wires. Is there a way to repair this problem safely? Do I have to pull the fuse on the air bag first? Should I go to the salvage yard and try to find a replacement? For now I have a button wired to the horn to the battery to the dash – a little ghetto but such is the economy. Not to worry, I do this at my own risk.

Answer:
Super glue and a small washer to the inside of the pad where the screws go in. This will provide a little clearance and fix the problem.
