Issue / Question:
I purchased this truck new at a great price and it’s all mine. I’m pulling a 4,000 lb 20′ travel trailer a few times a year in the Blue Ridge Mountains. At the price I paid for the truck I can afford to do a few performance upgrades if they would help. I also installed the Rough Country 2″ leveling kit and am considering replacing the 245/70-17 with 285/70-17 but don’t want to hurt the trucks performance. What upgrades are worth the money? Cold air, exhaust system, chip, 3.73 gearing. Truck is currently getting 14-15 in town and 19 – 20 hwy. It has 12k on it and I switched to amsoil at 6K. Can you help me dial in this Chevy’s performance?

Answer:
Unless theirs a computer update available that’s about all that will really help as far as performance and fuel economy. Cold air induction, and duel exhaust may help a little but the extra noise associated with these items are sometimes not worth the trade off and often customers will have us install the original parts back onto the vehicle.
