Car Information:
Nissan/Armada
Year: 2008
Engine Size: V8
Trans: Automatic

Issue / Question:
We purchased this vehicle new. It now has 22,000 miles. It has always been serviced. It now has a very slight lifter noise. The dealership tech says it’s no big deal. I would like to know if there is an engine oil additive that would help to quiet this noise.

Answer:
Ask them to listen to the motor of another Armada. If it does not make the same noise it is a big deal. It is most likely that there’s a valve adjustment issue the dealer is trying to pass off until the vehicle is out of power train warranty. There’s no additive that’s going to decrease clearances.
