Car Information:
Hyundai Sonata
Year: 2001
Engine Size: v6
Trans: Automatic

Issue / Question:
Few months ago I replaced the battery and then replaced the front airbag sensor. Now when I slow down the engine will die. If we are driving regular speed, sometimes the radio and lights will suddenly shut off and the engine slows down and then it will start up again by itself. Also, last winter the ignition was frozen every morning that it was cold. I had to spray deicer into the ignition in order to start the car.

Answer:
Sounds like there’s more then one problem. One sounds like maybe the torque converter clutch is engaging when slowing down and stalling the engine. Also there maybe an intermittent connection in the ignition switch and could cause more then one problem.
