Car Information:
Pontiac Grand Am
Year: 2002
Engine Size: 3.4L
Trans: Automatic

Issue / Question:

The car starts fine 1st thing in the morning. When you go to start it after it has sit for 15 minutes to perhaps an hour or 2, it won’t start. It just cranks but does not even hint like it wants to start. Normally it then restarts after 10-15 min. Recently it has taken an hour or 2 before it decides to restart. Have checked, there is a spark. Have replaced fuel pump relay. Fuel pump?? Any other ideas? Have kids sporting events on weekends-can’t always catch radio show. Thank you very much.

Answer:
If you have spark at the plugs when it does this you also need to check for voltage signal to pulse injectors, and run a fuel pressure test to verify fuel pressure is present and within spec’s while cranking.
