Car Information:
Ford F150

Engine Size: 5.4
Trans: Automatic

Issue / Question:
I have a hard bumping at around 42 mph and again at 58 mph. It seems to only happen at slow to medium accelerations. If I accelerate through these speeds quickly it seems to go smooth. At such consistent mph/occurrences, it leads me to believe it may be a trany issue. Is there diagnostics you can do on these newer transmissions? It so what is the cost and what will it tell me. I just had the fuel filter changed and the transmission pan dropped about 10K ago. Truck has approx 120K.

We need to drive it, as it sounds like a torque converter shudder. If that’s the case Amsoil ATF and Smart Lube modifier may be the answer. The worst case is replacing the torque converter.
