Chevy Malibu Power Steering Issue
Car Information:
Chevy Malibu Maxx
Year: 2006
Engine Size: 3.5 V6
Trans: Automatic
Issue / Question:
I bought this car new at a local dealer and it now has 74000 miles on it. Under heavy acceleration, a dinging bell goes off and my engine info display lights up “power steering” for a second or two. My car has electric power steering. The manual says to take it in for service and I did. However, at the dealer they said not to worry about it. It’s been doing it more and the last time, the steering locked up and I almost ran up on the sidewalk across a 4-lane road. Still, they can’t find anything wrong. Any ideas?
Answer:
Yes, have the power steering module replaced before you kill yourself! This is a known issue with your model of car.
