Car Information:

Year: 2003
Engine Size: 6.0
Trans: Automatic

Issue / Question:
You guys fixed a bad oil leak back in Feb. and $1300 later! but it was well worth it!
3 days ago while sitting in park idling, the check engine light came on and stayed on even after turning off and restarting. CODE 154. I erased the code and drove all day Saturday and had no problems. Drove again Sunday and at one point sat and idled for 5 min and light came back on and stays on. Same code. Seems to run fine and code says Oxygen sensor insufficient activity (upstream right bank ). Any clues ???

PS van has 160,000 miles on it

Answer:
If the engine seems to run OK I would recommend replacing the sensor first, these 6.0’s don’t usually have vacuum leak problems and if its not running rich (black smoke) the code usually indicates the O/2 is worn out and the computer is not receiving the sensor data quick enough. Replace the sensor and clear the code and lets see what happens!
