Issue / Question:
Ford’s warranty specifies 5 years, 50k miles for the restraint systems; belts and airbags. If the airbag light in a 2007 Focus is lit periodically, is there anything it could indicate other than a problem with the airbag system? The local Ford dealer says “not covered” but that it can be fixed for $1000.

Answer:
I would suspect a bad multi-function switch or steering wheel contact plate. However, we would need to scan it. But I don’t see it
costing $1000.00 to fix unless the vehicle has been wrecked and had an airbag deploy. Let us know if you want us to take a look at it.
