Mercury Sable CV Joints

Issue / Question:
Today after a fill-up, the steering wheel began making a ratcheting noise when it’s turned. I checked the power steering fluid, which is full when hot. What causes this noise?

Answer:

If the wheel was turned all the way to one side when the clicking was heard its most likely a constant velocity joint going bad on a drive axle.

If this is the case we usually replace the drive axle to cure the problem drive axle installed $250.00

A/C not Blowing Air

Issue / Question:
I left the car in the driveway during a rainstorm and found that the passenger-side front floor was wet and that the A/C, which is electronically controlled, will not blow air. I purchased the car in 2003 and had a problem with the A/C (blew hot air) after visiting a carwash. $800 later I had the blend door replaced. Any idea as to what is wrong?

Answer:
I would like to check the in-car temp sensor. If there’s water standing in the evap case, this could cause the problem. Let us know if you would like to swing by and let us look at it real quick.
