Issue / Question:

I have an AC problem that appears to be in the dash area behind the a/c vents. When the ac is on, there is a squealing noise heard only when I come to a stop as though something inside is sliding and rubbing making the noise. Maybe a fan but not sure. Vehicle has 145,000 miles.

Answer:
It sounds like you have already diagnosed your problem! What’s happening is the fan motor armature has worn out the bushing or bearing and when you stop or slow down it shifts and causes the noise,
It will most likely need a A/C blower motor to repair the problem. If you keep using it in this condition it will most likely blow a fuse and quit working all together. Let us know if we can help.
